PSA
PSA (PRESSURE SENSITIVE) / FUGITIVE / BOOGER ADHESIVES
PSA hot melts retain their tack after cooling to form bonds with light to moderate applied pressure. Pressure sensitives, also known as 'fugitive' and 'booger glue', are typically formulated with synthetic rubbers which creates the light to extreme tack product. PSAs have such light tack it will not tear or over stain substrates. PSAs can hold a number of substrates together, tack level needed will depend on the held substrate. Practice caution as pressure sensitives are susceptible to adhesion loss due to heat exposure.

PUR
PUR (POLYURETHANE) HOT MELT ADHESIVES
PUR hot melts possess a near immediate fast strong adhesion, then reaches its full strength in about 24 hours or more. PURs cure upon reaction with water drawn from the substrate or air. Best practices when PUR processing is to use up opened PUR as quickly as possible and flush equipment before shutting down. Once PUR has been heated and exposed to moisture, it cannot be reheated and re-used. Polyurethanes have a higher cost and require special application equipment but they make up for it with their excellent performance. PUR hot melts are typically available in a slug, cartridge, pails, or drums and are frequently used on very demanding applications.

MET
MET (METALLOCENE) HOT MELT ADHESIVES
MET hot melt adhesives have a superior bond strength and, more often, provide a deeper penetrating bond line. Metallocenes can be used on EVA and PE applications and perform in a superior manner. METs are lighter in weight compared to several other hot melts but may have a slightly higher cost per pound. The combination of increased bond strength and lighter weight enables you to apply less, resulting in a gain of adhesive mileage. In addition to an increase in adhesive mileage, METs do not char, under normal use. Clean running reduces downtime, saving you time replacing or clearing clogged hoses and nozzles.

POLYAMIDE
POLYAMIDE HOT MELT ADHESIVES
Polyamide hot melts are excellent for challenging applications. Polyamides hold excellent bonding capabilities to several substrates including paper, wood, metals PVC, treated polypropylene and polyethylene. Additionally, they have good cold resistance but not as well as PUR hot melts. Polyamides possess outstanding resistance to a wide range of chemicals including plasticizers, dry cleaning fluids, common solvents and oils. These products do have a higher cost and are prone to charring but can be used with most standard industry equipment.

DEXTRIN LIQUID ADHESIVES
Dextrin adhesives provide excellent lay flat and prevent curling and are perfect for packaging and use in manual label gluers. Dextrin glues are also known as brown glues. Commonly used in bottle labeling and envelope, and paper bags, but they have a variety of other uses that demand a strong glue or remoistenable adhesive. Dextrin glues bond very well to paper materials, offer good heat and cold resistance and are easier to clean up than some other types of glues.

GELATIN
GELATIN WATER BASED ADHESIVE
Gelatin is a water based adhesive whose essential ingredient is collagen, a natural polymer. Derived from natural sources, collagen blended with other ecological ingredients, produces a natural, protein based adhesive. Gelatin bonds water sensitive substrates such as paper, board, cloth, foam, backed vinyl fabrics and similar substrates. Formulations for more difficult substrates are also available. Gelatin is available in a variety of flexibility characteristics and viscosities.

CA
FABTK CYANOACRYLATE (CA) ADHESIVES
Cyanoacrylates, also known as 'super glue', are among the fastest curing adhesives available and provide excellent bonds to the widest variety of materials including many plastics, wood, rubbers, metals, and other substrates. CAs cure with moisture from the air and substrates, they will react with the moisture and will cure at a very fast rate. CAs bonds work best when there is an extremely thin film between the substrate and a minimal amount of adhesive in applied.
FABTAK CYANOACRYLATE (CA) ACCELERATORS
Cyanoacrylate accelerators can be applied to bonding surfaces before the adhesive to help to provide moisture to speed up the curing process, can also help out in dry climates. There are many uses for CA accelerators but the most common, is to speed up cure time. In addition, accelerators can lead to a stronger final bond, especially in dry climates and between difficult substrates that contain a lot of oil or acid like in wood.
